BETHANY COLLEGE STUDENT RECEIVES MCMANUS SCHOLARSHIP

BETHANY, W.Va. - Ronald Perkins, Jr., a 2005 graduate of Bethany College, received a Lewis N. McManus Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was distributed in the fall of 2004.

Perkins, a resident of Wellsburg, W.Va., graduated cum laude from the College and received distinction on the Senior Comprehensive Examination in Political Science.

The Lewis N. McManus Scholarship is designated for West Virginia students majoring in political science, interested in pursuing a career in government, or involved in community service. Recipients must also demonstrate financial need and strong academic potential, as well as maintain a satisfactory grade point average throughout the period of the scholarship.

The scholarship is a part of the West Virginia Independent Colleges and Universities, Inc. (WVICU) Circle of Vision program. This program has provided nearly $2 million in scholarship funds for 1,500 West Virginia college students since its inception in 1997.

Bethany College is a member of the WVICU consortium.
