BETHANY, W. Va. -- Jennifer Manor, a student at Bethany College, has received a scholarship from BB&T Bank. The bank contributed $10,000 to the Circle of Vision Scholarship Program administered by the West Virginia Independent Colleges and Universities, Inc (WVICU).
Manor, a freshman Economics major from Hedgesville, W.Va., is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Manor of Tinks Drive, Hedgesville.
Circle of Vision scholarships are earmarked for West Virginia student-residents who demonstrate academic promise and financial need. Recipients must maintain a satisfactory grade-point average throughout the scholarship period.
BB&T has supported the Circle of Vision since the program’s inception in 1997. The bank has been a corporate leader in supporting West Virginia’s independent higher education institutions since 1971. BB&T and its predecessor organizations in West Virginia have provided more than $1.25 million to WVICU.
The WVICU is a consortium of the 10 private colleges and universities, including Bethany, in the state.
