BETHANY, W.Va. -- Herb Weaver, Bethany Professor of Fine Arts in the Jennie Steindorf Renner Chair of Fine Arts, will present a solo art exhibition at the Lee Art Center in Arlington, Va. from June 3-30.
The exhibition titled "Sleight of Hand," features 20 newly completed works of unusual teapots, semi-functional vessels and ceramic sculptures, with a mixture of wheel-thrown and hand-built ceramic objects that focus on political commentary and utilitarian works.
The exhibition represents the fruition of artwork completed during Weaver's artist-in-residence program funded by the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation.
"The past year has been an incredible period for me personally as an artist. The College and my colleagues have been supportive of my creative endeavors, for which I am grateful," Weaver said.
Weaver recently completed his eleventh year of teaching at Bethany College.
