GATES CAMBRIDGE SCHOLAR TO GIVE ADDRESS AT BETHANY’S FALL CONVOCATION

BETHANY, W.Va. – Dustin Frazier, a 2005 Bethany College graduate and Gates Cambridge Scholarship recipient, will address the Bethany College community during fall convocation. Convocation is scheduled for September 15 at 11 a.m. in Commencement Hall. Frazier’s speech is entitled “The Tightrope.”

Frazier, a native of Parkersburg, W.Va., graduated from Bethany with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature last May. His main courses focused on medieval and renaissance studies and in History.

Later this month, he will leave for the University of Cambridge in England where he will study for a master’s degree and a doctor of philosophy degree in Anglo-Saxon, Celtic and Norse. Frazier is the first Bethany graduate to be awarded a Gates Cambridge Scholarship and is one of only 38 candidates from the United States to have been offered Gates Cambridge Scholarships this past spring.

Frazier will be part of the fifth annual contingent of Gates Scholars, selected from countries around the world, to begin graduate studies at the University of Cambridge. These scholars, highly talented young men and women from all over the world, will be studying subjects across a range of knowledge, including arts, science, humanities, social sciences, technology and medicine.
