BETHANY, W.Va. – Homecoming weekend is planned Oct. 7-9 on the Bethany College campus with a multitude of activities planned for the campus and for returning alumni.

Homecoming activities open the morning of Oct. 7 with the Hugh "Tiger" Joyce Golf Scramble at Highland Springs Golf Course.

Registration for returning Bethanians will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the Information Center in Benedum Commons on the campus.

The Athletic Hall of Fame reception and dinner will be Friday evening. To be inducted are John Sholhead, a soccer athlete and member of the Class of 1980; James Regan, a soccer athlete and member of the Class of 1981; Kenneth Gongola, a baseball athlete and member of the Class of 1983; Enid Cobb Baines, a track athlete and member of the Class of 1989; Christine Haught Rogerson, a cross country/track and field athlete and member of the Class of 1993; and Michael DiLucia, a baseball athlete and member of the Class of 1994.

Also scheduled on Friday evening is an art show, "Horsing Around: An Equine Art Exhibition," which features Bethany students, alumni, faculty, staff and invited artists. The show runs from 7-9 p.m. in Renner Union Gallery.

Friday evening's events will conclude with a bonfire and pep rally.

Saturday morning activities will open with an Allison Run/Walk in memory of the late Professor James Allison, followed by the Homecoming parade, the crowning of the King and Queen at halftime of the football game and the introduction of Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. A live concert at the tailgate area will conclude the afternoon events.

Homecoming sports for the weekend are the cross country teams Bethany Invitational, men's soccer against Thiel, women's soccer against Thiel and football against Waynesburg College.

Weekend events wrap-up with a Homecoming brunch on Sunday.
