BETHANY, W.Va. – Students, faculty and staff can now access wireless service from Benedum Commons. The new access points join pre-existing zones in T.W. Phillips Memorial Library and Phillips Lounge.
The wireless access in Benedum Commons follows the recent addition of two computers in the Boomer's snack bar area. These "walk-up" computers enable quick access to e-mail, Moodle and other Internet services. Spare cables are also available for those who do not have a wireless card.
Jeffrey Devlin, Director of Information Technology, said, "We're excited about these new technology services. Wireless is a hot wish-list element and the walk-up computers have already seen extensive use. Based on what we've seen and heard already, we hope to create more wireless and walk-up computer zones in the future."
Renner Union in Bethany House is next to get wireless access.
