BETHANY, W.Va. — Leron S. Burge is the new Director of Student Activities at Bethany College. His appointment was announced by Dr. Scott D. Miller, President of the College.
As Director of Student Activities at Bethany, Burge will have primary responsibility for scheduling social, recreational, cultural and educational programs and campus-wide special events that are designed to boost student engagement and encourage greater involvement in the college community.
“Bethany has a rich history as a student-centered national liberal arts college,” Burge said. “I’m looking forward to working with the students, faculty and staff of Bethany College in developing new and innovative ways to enhance the entire educational experience.”
A native of Charleston, W.Va., Burge comes to Bethany after serving as a Residence Life Coordinator for the Office of Residence Life and the Division of Student Affairs at the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, Pa. He holds a B.A. in Business from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Education Leadership and Higher Education at Penn State University in State College, Pa.
Bethany is a small college of national distinction located on a historic 1,300-acre campus in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia. Founded in 1840, it is the oldest college in the state.
