Wallace B. Neel Promoted to Associate Provost at Bethany College


2935WallaceNeelWEB.jpg  BETHANY, W.Va. — Dr. Wallace B. Neel has been named Associate Provost of Bethany College, according to Dr. Scott D. Miller, President of the College.

 “Dr. Neel is a distinguished academic who has served Bethany College well for more than 25 years,” Dr. Miller said. “This appointment reflects our commitment to ongoing strengthening and growth in the academic component of the College.”

 In this new role, Dr. Neel will provide general support to the Provost and Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Michael P. Mihalyo Jr. Neel will also provide oversight of the McCann Learning Center, the Office of the Registrar, the Mary Cutlip Center for Library and Information Technology Services and the Office of Career Counseling and Placement.

 Since 1982, Neel has served Bethany College in a variety of roles. These include Dean of Professional Studies and as Chair and Professor of Physical Education and Sports Studies. He has also served as a coach and athletic director. Neel will be the Faculty Athletics Representative to the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Neel earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees at Ohio University and holds an Ed.D. from West Virginia University.
