Bethany Taiko Group Presents Pittsburgh Holiday Performance

BETHANY, W.Va. — The Bethany College Taiko Group performed at the University of Pittsburgh for the annual Nationality Rooms Holiday Open House on December 6 in the Cathedral of Learning. Members of the University of Pittsburgh Taiko Group joined Bethany for the performance. Approximately 3,000 people were in attendance at the event.


The Bethany Taiko Group provided one of eight featured performances in the Cathedral, decorated for the holidays. Taiko drumming has been used extensively for festivals and ceremonies in Japan. Taiko is intensely musical and is known for its ability to unite players and audience members with its powerful sound. Bethany’s group has been asked to perform for next year’s Cathedral of Learning Open House as well.

Bethany College is a small college of national distinction located on a picturesque and historic 1,300-acre campus in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia. Founded in 1840, Bethany is the state’s oldest private college.
