Bethany Ranks Among First Tier National Liberal Arts Colleges by U.S. News and World Report

 BETHANY, W.Va. -- Bethany College ranked solidly among First Tier National Liberal Arts Colleges according to an announcement by U.S. News and World Report released this morning. Bethany is the only West Virginia institution to be included in the First Tier listings.

Bethany is the first college in West Virginia and the fifth out of 36 colleges in the Appalachian College Association named in the overall National Liberal Arts Colleges study. "National Liberal Arts Colleges" are undergraduate liberal arts colleges emphasizing undergraduate education and awarding at least half of their degrees in the arts and sciences.

Bethany College President Scott D. Miller stated, “U.S. News and World Report, along with a wide variety of prominent ranking agencies, consistently give top marks to Bethany College. Today’s report further demonstrates our standing as a national liberal arts college committed to serving our students with an education of value and distinction.”

Bethany College is a small college of national distinction located on a picturesque and historic 1,300-acre campus in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia. Founded in 1840, Bethany is the state’s oldest private college.
