Kanotz Joins Bethany College as Director of Alumni and Parent Relations

BETHANY, W.Va. — Bethany College Vice President of Institutional Advancement Sven de Jong announces that alumna Ashley Kanotz has been appointed Director of Alumni and Parent Relations.

Kanotz’s long-held commitment and dedication to the College began with her days as a student and have continued since she graduated magna cum laude from Bethany with a degree in history in 2006. She earned her master’s degree in 19th century American history from Duquesne University in 2008.

“As someone who understands and appreciates Bethany’s unique history and mission, Ashley is an outstanding addition to our team,” said de Jong. “Her valuable insights into the College’s past and future are critical as we move into a promising new era for liberal arts institutions.”

Kanotz’s professional experience includes work with the Heinz History Center’s Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village and the Washington County Historical Society.

As a student at Bethany, Kanotz was deeply involved in both academic and student life programs, giving her an extensive understanding of campus concerns. Ashley was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She held positions as philanthropy chair and vice president.

"I am extremely excited to have returned to Bethany as an employee,” Kanotz said. “I fell in love with this campus a decade ago as a high school senior. Over time the staff and faculty have only increased that love. As a young alumna, I hope to bring a fresh perspective to alumni relations and help increase alumni engagement.”

Kanotz can be contacted at akanotz@bethanywv.edu or 304-829-7299.
