Jan. 21 - WEXFORD, Pa. - Bethany College had 28 student-athletes from the Fall 2008 semester earn a spot on the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Academic Honor Roll, which was released Wednesday by the conference office.

A total of 301 student-athletes from league schools were named to the honor roll, which recognizes those on fall varsity athletic teams who earned a grade-point average of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the semester of their competition.

The 28 honorees is the most by Bethany on the Academic Honor Roll overall since 32 were recognized in the Spring of 2007. This is the highest total posted by the Bison in the fall since the first semester of 2004 when 32 BC student-athletes made the grade.

Bethany's list of honorees included 10 who achieved a 3.8 or higher and two others who scored perfect 4.0s. It was a near split between BC's women and men on the list, with 15 females and 13 males. The top women's program was cross country with six representatives, while the Bison football program led the men with seven.

The top school in the PAC was Waynesburg with 44 student-athletes earning PAC Academic Honor Roll recognition. Next up was Saint Vincent and Westminster with 41 each, followed by Grove City (35), Geneva (33), Bethany and Washington & Jefferson (28), Thiel and Thomas More (22) and Chatham (7).
