Mouch/Addy Named SAAC Athletes of the Week

Nov. 20 – BETHANY, W. Va. – Sophomore women’s volleyball libero Julia Mouch (Toledo, Ohio/Sylvania Southview) and men’s basketball senior forward Leslie Addy (Columbia, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) have been named the Bethany College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee’s Players of the Week announced the Bethany SAAC on Tuesday.

Julia_Mouch_Action_2.jpgMouch earned her first SAAC Player of the Week award following her performance in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Southwest Regional Championship Tournament. Mouch was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, collecting 32 digs between the semifinal and championship games. She helped the Bison hold both of their opponents to under a .100 hitting percentage, forcing McDaniel College to hit .030, and holding Marymount to a .099 hitting percentage in the finals.

Over the course of the 2013 campaign, Mouch totaled 642 digs on the year, averaging 4.62 per game. She also ranked third on the team in service aces with 43 and appeared in the most games by a Bison, playing in 139 of the 142 on the year.

In his first game of the season, Addy tied a career high in rebounds, hauling in 19 in a 79-69 victory over Frostburg State. Addy also added 19 points to go along with his 19 boards, giving him his first double-double Addy_Action_1.jpgof the young season. More impressively, Addy accomplished his double-double just 10 minutes into the contest.

Last season, Addy totaled three double-doubles over the course of his junior campaign, including a 33-point, 10-rebound performance against Washington & Jefferson on January 12.

Other nominees for the SAAC Player of the Week included swimming and diving senior Marina Baker (Winchester, Va./Sherando) on the women’s side and sophomore football wideout Eric Blinn (Beaver, Pa./Western Beaver) and junior basketball guard Delonte’ Joyce (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) for the men.
