Jan. 24 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – A total of 35 Bethany College student-athletes were recently named to the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll for the fall 2013 semester.
In all, 435 student-athletes from all ten conference schools were named to the honor roll, which recognizes those on fall varsity athletic teams who earn a grade point average of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the semester of their competition.
The 35 honorees marks the second-highest fall total for the Bison over the last five years. Only last year's 43 honorees, a school record, was higher since 2009.
The women’s volleyball and women's soccer programs placed the most athletes on the PAC Honor Roll, as each saw nine players honored. The cross country teams saw seven reach the honor roll while five from the Bison football program were honored. Three women’s tennis players were also named, along with two from the men’s soccer program.
Of the 35 who were named to the Honor Roll, 13 of those student-athletes earned a perfect, 4.0 GPA.
