Junior Renee Shepherd (New Martinsville, W.Va./Magnolia) scored the last six points of the period for the Bison, who trailed at the half 37-31.

Junior Audra Droginske (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Central) (10 points) and Shepherd (eight) accounted for more than half of Bethany’s first half scoring. The Bison shot just 39.3 percent from the floor in the first half compared to Saint Vincent, who connected on 47.1 percent of their first-half field goals, including four from behind the arc. Saint Vincent came out of the locker room for the second half and went on a 9-0 run to push the lead to 15 early in the second half. From there, the Bison began playing possession by possession to get back into the game. With the score 55-45 with 10 minutes remaining, the Bison used an 8-0 run, including consecutive threes from Droginske and Shepherd, to cut the lead to just two points. That’s when the Bearcats used their 19-5 run to secure the road victory.
