Feb. 10 – GREENVILLE, Pa. - Bethany College sophomore Sami Schott (Caldwell, Ohio/Shenandoah) has been named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week, announced the conference office on Monday.
Schott had arguably her best two-game stretch of the season, averaging 18.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.0 assists in a pair of league victories for the Bison last week. In Bethany's 85-78 win at Westminster on Feb. 5, Schott scored a game-high 18 points, corralled five rebounds and chipped in with two assists and a steal. She continued her steady play in a 78-61 home win over Thiel on Feb. 8, tallying her fourth double-double of the season with a career-high 17 rebounds and a game-high 18 points. She finished the week knocking down 61.9 percent (13-of-21) of her attempts from the field and converted on 9-of-11 attempts (81.8%) from the charity stripe.
Schott is having an impressive year thus far, leading the team in rebounds (7.5) and ranking second in scoring per contest (11.1). She has also made an impact on the defensive side of the floor, ranking second on the team in blocks and fourth in steals.
The daughter of Dave and Jodi Schott, Sami is a communications major.
