McCann ’80 Featured in ‘Revitalizing America’ Discussion
UBS Wealth Management Americas (WMA) CEO Robert McCann, 1980 Bethany College graduate, participated in a May 9 “Revitalizing America” discussion including President William J. Clinton and President George W. Bush. The event explored solutions to a variety of economic challenges facing the U.S. and also included approximately 400 clients and prospects and 150 Financial Advisors. A number of political figures and senior firm managers offered their insights on potential long-term strategies to problems such as U.S. debt and high unemployment and topics such as globalization and trade, the rise of economic competitors, engines for growth and potential pitfalls for recovery.

McCann concluded, “The U.S. has reached a critical inflection point. The challenges we face today are formidable but also surmountable, while the resources at our disposal are vast but exhaustible. America will retain its role as a leader in the global economy because of the entrepreneurial spirit of our people, but it will require collective focus and determination to make difficult choices and a commitment by all of us to embrace change.”
