Bethany College Joins Bison as National Mammal Campaign
Bethany College in June made the decision to partner with the National Bison Legacy Act campaign, a coalition that advocates and seeks the designation of the American bison as the national mammal of the United States.

The campaign’s aim is to create a geographically diverse coalition of Native American, bison production, conservation, sportsmen/recreation, education and health organizations and businesses to celebrate the American bison. Currently, the Vote Bison coalition has managed to introduce legislation in the House of Representatives as well as the Senate. To date, 15 senators and two representatives have co-sponsored the bills, according to officials.

More information, as well as the recently released campaign video, can be found at www.votebison.org.

Richardson Hall Improvements Made During Summer
Ted Williams, director of the physical plant, and Dr. Lisa Reilly, chair of the department of physical sciences and mathematics, directed a number of improvements this summer throughout Richardson Hall.

Work crews painted classrooms, hallways, checked and repaired plumbing and safety equipment and completed general roof repairs. An additional exhaust fan is also being installed in the building. The information technology department replaced several projection screens and also improved the audio and video projectors in the Pirson and Dolbear computer labs.

“The department is grateful to all members of the physical plant, housekeeping and information technology (departments) for all they have done and continue to do to make teaching and learning in Richardson Hall a better experience. They have a difficult and thankless job and we are appreciative of their constant efforts,” said Reilly.
