Bethany Announces Fall 2011 President's List and Dean's List
Bethany College has announced the President's List and the Dean's List for the fall semester of the 2011-12 school year. Those named to the President's List must have achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average while completing a minimum of 12 graded credit hours. Those named to the Dean's List must have earned a grade-point average of 3.65 or better for the semester while completing a minimum of 12 graded credits.

Bethany President Elected Chair of The Council of Colleges & Universities of the Christian Church
Dr. Scott D. Miller, President of Bethany College, has been elected to a two-year term as Chair of The Council of Colleges and Universities of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Bethany continues to Implement Technology Upgrades in Network Infrastructure
Bethany College recently replaced its core network switch as part of its continuing process of technology enhancements utilizing the Mary Cutlip Technology fund.  At the heart of the campus network infrastructure, the core switch upgrade will provide a foundation for further network improvements, including Voice-Over IP and improved network security and control.

Drive with Pride: Introducing the Bethany College License Plate
Show how green you really are with the new Bethany College license plate.

Available to Bethany College alumni, employees, students, family members and friends, the Bethany plate is a custom-designed, special-issue offering for all Class A motor vehicles currently licensed in West Virginia.

The Bethany College Office of Alumni and Parent Relations is accepting applications NOW for the new plate. We must secure a minimum of 250 applications within the next few months to ensure that the plate is produced.

Bethany Accepting Nominations for Alumnus of the Year Award
The Alumnus of the Year Award was established by the Office of the President to recognize outstanding loyalty and accomplishment by alumni of Bethany College. The award recognizes not one achievement, but is reserved for those who have attained and maintained excellence throughout their career and in their service to others.

Criteria/selection:

  1. Must hold a degree from Bethany College.
  2. Must demonstrate outstanding professional accomplishment and personal deeds on behalf of Bethany College.
  3. Nominations may come from all constituency groups of the College.  Nominations should be sent to:

    Office of the President
    Bethany College
    Old Main
    Bethany, WV 26032

  1. Nominations should be made in the form of a formal letter detailing the strengths of the nominee.
  2. The Director of Alumni and Parent Relations & President's Cabinet will serve as the screening committee for the award.
  3. The President of the College will choose the recipient.

Bethany Goes to 4-0 in PAC With Win at W&J
Juniors Nick Wilcox (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) and James Barton (Bethel Park, Pa.) scored 18 points apiece to lift the Bethany College men's basketball team to a 79-60 road victory at Washington & Jefferson Wednesday night.

Bison Falter in Second Half in Loss at W&J
After trailing by just one at halftime, the Bethany College women’s basketball team shot 25 percent in the second half and Washington & Jefferson pulled away for a 76-59 triumph over the Bison Wednesday night.
