BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College is announcing its first-annual Student Alumni Clean-Up Day, scheduled for Aug. 19, to foster student involvement and strengthen the bond between alumni and current students.

“The Campus Clean-Up Project at Bethany College offers the opportunity for alumni to connect with each other and students to beautify the grounds and academic buildings of our beloved school,” says alumni council member and alumnae Bob Brosh ‘85. “I hope you can join us on Saturday, Aug. 19. Hail the alma mater!”

The Student Alumni Clean-Up Project will focus on two priority areas: painting and landscaping. Alumni volunteers are encouraged to bring brushes, ladders, and other necessary equipment, while the College will provide the paint. Painting indoors offers the advantage of weather independence, ensuring progress regardless of conditions.

The painting will include fences on the grounds of Campbell Mansion, Historic Center, and the Practice Soccer Fields. In addition to this, the event will encompass various landscaping tasks, including hedge trimming, mulch laying, and flower planting. Alumni volunteers are requested to bring hedge trimmers, rakes, shovels, and any other landscaping tools they can contribute.

To help with the expenses of landscaping supplies such as flowers and mulch, a donation of $20 per alumni volunteer or volunteer couple is requested in advance.

Following the clean-up activities, a celebratory picnic will be held, providing an opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of the day. You can register for the event here.

Join Bethany College for the Student Alumni Clean-Up Event and make a tangible difference in the campus community. Together, alumni and students can create an environment that fosters growth, unity, and pride.
