Throughout history, Bethany College has sought to recognize and reward student achievement in leadership and service. The Kalon Leaders Scholarship Program was started in 1984. It serves as an extension of our commitment to the recognition of students who possess special leadership potential, and will contribute to the Bethany Community.

Award maintenance is dependent upon student involvement in the College community, a good citizenship record and a minimum cumulative 2.5 grade point average.

Participants are expected to have demonstrated exceptional qualities of character and leadership, to have achieved a record of distinction in service to their school and community, and to have maintained a commendable grade point average. All students involved in the scholarship competition must be accepted by January 18, 2017. To participate in the Kalon Leaders Scholarship Program, please complete the online registration form.

Selection of winners will be based on leadership achievement, a required essay, and an interview, which is the focal point of the selection process. The interviews, conducted by Bethany faculty/staff, students and alumni, will be scheduled every half-hour throughout the afternoon.

To receive consideration for Kalon, complete the online registration form. Upon being accepted for admission, you will be notified whether you will be invited to interview. If you are selected to interview, you will be asked to submit a list of your leadership and service-related activities. You also will be required to submit an essay on a topic that will be assigned.
