BETHANY, W.Va. – Hanna Williams, of Wintersville, Ohio, will graduate with a degree in elementary education with a minor in multi-categorical special education.
After graduation, she hopes to obtain her master’s degree and become a reading specialist. She also is enrolled in an Orton-Gillingham course through Wheeling Country Day School and plans to become certified in the structured literacy approach.
Ultimately, she plans to find a job in an elementary school setting.
“My passion is teaching the youth,” Williams said. “I am a professional, energetic and enthusiastic individual interested in advancing my knowledge and skillset in elementary instruction. I desire to provide key fundamentals within the classroom and other assigned areas. My hope is to inspire children to be lifelong learners using activities and curriculum that promote social, physical, verbal, and cognitive learning.”
Williams became the first Bethany education major to participate in the yearlong residency program as a student-teacher at Wheeling Country Day School.
At Bethany, she is a member of Alpha Xi Delta, senior class council and Kappa Delta Pi. A Kalon Scholar and an Alexander Campbell Scholar, Williams passed her comprehensive exams with distinction.
Her favorite Bethany memory is joining Alpha Xi Delta in the fall of 2018.
