BETHANY, W.Va. (Jan. 28, 2025) — Bethany College is pleased to announce the promotion of Emily Luke to associate vice president of marketing and communications, effective immediately. In her new role, Luke will work closely with Lori Weaver, vice president of advancement, marketing, and communications, to oversee the strategic direction of the College’s marketing and communications efforts. Together, they will align initiatives with institutional goals, foster engagement with internal and external audiences, and strengthen Bethany’s visibility and brand.

Luke’s journey at Bethany College began in January 2018 when she joined the institution as a media specialist. After transitioning to communications specialist just one month later, her dedication and talent quickly earned her a promotion to communications manager in December 2018. Most recently, Luke served as the executive director of marketing and communications, a position she assumed in June 2021.

Prior to joining Bethany College, Luke honed her communication skills as a multimedia journalist for “The Dominion Post” in Morgantown, W.Va., where she developed a deep understanding of storytelling and public engagement. She is a proud alumna of Malone University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication with a concentration in public relations in 2015.

In her new capacity as associate vice president, Luke will help lead key initiatives, including managing digital advertising operations, overseeing Bethany’s official publications, and maintaining Bethany’s branding across all channels. She will also continue to provide guidance to the marketing and communications team, including the director of marketing and communications and the digital marketing and social media specialist.

“Emily is truly the backbone of what we accomplish within our department,” says Weaver. “Her exceptional leadership, strategic insight, and unwavering commitment to excellence have been key to our success. Emily leads by example, inspiring those around her with her creativity, dedication, and vision. She is an incredible teammate and an outstanding leader who strengthens every aspect of our work and ensures we continually deliver on Bethany’s mission.”

“Her vision and expertise will undoubtedly enhance our ability to connect with students, alumni, and the broader community,” Weaver adds.

Luke brings a unique combination of creative vision, journalistic integrity, and operational expertise to the role, ensuring that Bethany College’s message resonates with diverse audiences while reinforcing the institution’s mission and values.
